Garioch Heritage Centre
Garioch Heritage Centre houses the collections of Garioch Heritage Society. The Centre tells the story of life in the Garioch, from the early 20th century to the present day and sheds light on the working and domestic lives of local people. Come and see what life was like in a Loco Works colony house or a dairy farm and learn about the trades that grew to support the area.
There is a gift shop, café and activities to amuse younger visitors. You can enjoy a guided tour by experienced volunteers and hear their stories of growing up in the Garioch. The reading area provides a space in which to research local history or to peruse the Societies’ extensive collection of photographs and archive material.
Entry is £5 for adults and free for accompanied children.
The centre houses The Works café. The café sells hot and cold food and a delicious selection of cakes and biscuits.
