Christmas Makerie - Paste Paper Making
Join artist and illustrator Tracey Johnston in this fun workshop to learn the easy and satisfying craft of Paste Paper making, perfect for transforming your festive gift wrapping into something special. Paste papers have been used since the 16th century as decorative endpapers and covers for bookbinding. They are made by pressing or sliding objects into a wet paste and paint mixture that has been painted on to paper. The patterns are ingeniously and simply made by removing the paste paint. In this workshop you will learn this technique using a variety of tools made from recycled materials to produce a variety of papers to use to elevate your festive gift wrapping.
All materials supplied but you are welcome to bring a selection of your own papers and utensils you may want to experiment with.
