Start your journey with a comfortable bus ride from the port, travelling along to the picturesque Greyhope Bay for a coffee and some dolphin spotting. Before continuing the bus journey, offering breathtaking views along the Aberdeen Beach Esplanade, where you will begin your walking adventure.
Tour highlights
1. Windows to the Sea: Begin the tour at these iconic granite sculptures where our tour guide will set the scene with interesting facts about the history of Aberdeen.
2. Omega Stone: The final marker of Aberdeen’s Inner and Outer Marches.
3. Brig o' Balgownie: Walk through time as you cross this ancient stone bridge (now a Scheduled Ancient Monument) which was once the main crossing on the River Don leading north from Aberdeen and is one of Scotland’s oldest surviving bridges.
4. St Machar’s Cathedral: Wander through the beautiful grounds of this 12th-century cathedral, where tales of Scottish legends and history awaits.
5. Marischal College: Conclude your tour at this magnificent granite building – said to be the second largest in the world – and take the opportunity to appreciate the impressive architecture.
This walking tour will be completed at a relaxed pace, lasting approximately 3 hours.
