Although we are currently closed due to Covid-19, we are delighted to offer visitors the chance to explore the Heritage Centre from the comfort of their own home through our new virtual tour experience. As you take a virtual ‘walk’ through the Heritage Centre, you will be able to read and listen to stories from four centuries of Aberdeenshire local history. Experience our 3D Virtual Tour here >>

The 4 star Visitor Attraction has over 20 exhibits including fishing heritage, Harbour Masters Office, Fraserburgh Railway and the Thomas Blake Glover story in the Japanese Garden.

You can enjoy a self-guided tour round the exhibits accompanied by an informative free audio tour.

Many exciting hands on activities to see, hear and handle for both young and old.

The building that houses the centre was originally a herring barrel store, then the foundry of the Consolidated Pneumatic Tool Company Ltd., before being converted in 1998 to a (650m2) modern visitor centre which illustrates the history of Fraserburgh and its people.

Gift shop stocking "Outlander" series jewellery, local souvenirs and pocket money toys.
