Join Dr Alessandra Cecolin for an interesting talk on identity, politics and religion in the Middle East.

Are you interested in learning more about identity, politics and religion in the Middle East? Would you like to understand more about the background to current tensions in Iran?

Dr Alessandra Cecolin (University of Aberdeen) will offer an engaging talk entitled Iranian Jews and Israel based on her research on Iranian Jews, their status in Israel and the navigation of a complex identity in the context of the broader social, political and economic climate in the Middle East. She will draw on findings from her book Iranian Jews in Israel: Between Persian Cultural Identity and Israeli Nationalism, and there will be a chance for an open discussion about identity in the Middle East, Middle East politics, the Jewish diaspora, and more.
