Branch Weaving for Kids
At this years' festival, we wanted to include some fun activities for the younger members of the community...so, we have included a weaving workshop just for kids.
Using a forked branch as your loom, items from nature and a colourful collection of yarns, every child will craft a unique and fun, nature-inspired wall hanging that they can take home.
All materials will be supplied, but feel free to bring along your own foraged treasures (feathers, shells, small rocks, etc) if you'd like to add your own personal touch. The workshop will run for approximately 3 hours and be led by Cheryl Sangster, a local Birse resident originally from Canada, who is a self-taught weaver inspired by the beauty of the Scottish countryside.
Please note, this event will include a maximum of 10 children; parents can accompany Feel free to take a snack and drink along!
