The wait is nearly over! The Tall Ships Races will be back in Aberdeen from 19 to 22 July 2025. Hundreds of thousands of people will descend on the city, bringing a festival of colour, music, and maritime history to the city’s harbour for the first time in over 28 years.
Whether you’re planning a family day out, a photography adventure or simply want to soak up the atmosphere, here is everything you need to know before you go.
When and where
- 19 – 22 July 2025
- Aberdeen’s North Harbour, across Waterloo Quay, Regent Quay, Upper Quay, Jamieson’s Quay and Blaikies Quay.
The Port of Aberdeen’s North Harbour will come alive with towering masts as 49 ships from around the world dock, ready to welcome visitors on board. Events will take place across the city centre and beach area.
Getting there
The region is easy to reach via road, rail, sea and air, and once here getting around is just as easy with buses, railways and car hire options available.
We recommend that spectators consider the use of public transport, car sharing or if you are staying in the local area, consider walking, cycling or wheeling.
Four Park and Ride services will also be in operation from Bridge of Don, Craibstone, P&J Live (surface parking) and Kingswells, with services running every 15 minutes.
Accessibility
Tall Ships Races Aberdeen aims to be welcoming and accessible to all visitors, and several provisions have been put in place. We recommend checking the official Tall Ships Races website before your visit and for the most up-to-date information on accessibility, including maps, viewing points, parking and designated facilities.
