Museums & Galleries
Independent galleries and museums play a strong part in what makes Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire unique. The Gordon Highlanders Museum is one of the 5-star graded visitor attractions in the region which tells the story of the Gordon Highlanders over 200 years.
Aberdeen is home to key museums including the Tolbooth Museum, Aberdeen Maritime Museum and the Zoology Museums. Scotland’s first centre of science and discovery can also be found near Aberdeen Beach. The Aberdeen Science Centre, home to 50 exhibits and live-shows is a firm family favourite.
Independent art galleries are scattered throughout the region from the Butterworth gallery, Milton Art Gallery and Lost gallery in Royal Deeside to Tolquhon in the North.
