With a par of 71, Murcar Links Golf Club is not only a championship links but also regularly makes it to the Top 100 golf courses in the UK list. Most recently, in 2016, the course held the European Tour Saltire Energy Paul Lawrie Match Play but has held several important competitions over its 100 year old history.
Along the coast, Aberdeenshire’s newest golf course, Trump International Golf Links, can be found in the majestic dunes of Balmedie. The course is set against the dramatic backdrop of miles of coastal views and boasts an impressive 72 championship par course which is being enjoyed by keen golfers from across the world.
Just two miles north of Trump is the championship Newburgh on Ythan Golf Club, overlooking the grand Sands of Forvie Nature Reserve. If you keep going along this same coast you will find the 54th Best Course in the World, according to US Publication Links Magazine. Set against a sandy backdrop with impressive views across miles of sandy coast all the way along to the imposing Slains Castle, this course is memorable whether watching a competition or teeing off yourself!
