Douneside House
At Douneside House, dining is a refined yet relaxed experience, rooted in seasonality, sustainability, and local provenance. Our light-filled Conservatory Restaurant offers a welcoming setting for lunch, dinner, and traditional afternoon teas, with a menu that celebrates the freshest local ingredients, many of which are grown just steps away in our hotel garden. Guests can enjoy beautifully prepared dishes that showcase the best of the season. For a more elevated culinary journey, our intimate Library Restaurant presents a seasonal six-course tasting menu, each course thoughtfully paired with fine wines selected by our sommelier.
Located in the village of Tarland, Douneside House offers a peaceful place to stay while exploring the landscapes and history of Royal Deeside. The house enjoys wide views across the Howe of Cromar and is just a short drive from the Cairngorms National Park.
Accommodation ranges from traditional rooms in the main house to self-catered cottages and apartments, ideal for families or longer stays. Guests can enjoy access to an on-site Health Club, indoor pool, tennis court, and lawn games, with miles of walking and the Tarland Trails cycling path on the doorstep.
Douneside is also available for exclusive use, and regularly hosts weddings, retreats, and family celebrations.
