5 family friendly events this Easter in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire

It’s that time of year again which brings joy to all the family – Easter. With the longer, brighter days and the smell of chocolate and spring in the air it’s the perfect time to get the whole family out for a day of activities.

Nestled in the heart of the city centre, the gallery has a rich variety of experiences for visitors of all ages.

From April 5 – 16, all visitors can pick up their Easter Trail from the welcome desk and head off to explore the gallery and find all the hidden clues. It’s the perfect day trip no matter the weather.  

Finish off your visit with a trip to the top floor where you can mooch around the gift shop, relax with a coffee and cake and take a gaze across the city from the roof-top terrace.  

No need to book in advance, it’s free.

With a backdrop of rolling Aberdeenshire hills, Crathes stands tall within gardens of beautiful foliage and greenery. 

From 7 – 10 April, Crathes Castle will be hosting an Easter egg trail around the grounds. Collect the clues, solve the puzzle and reap your chocolate filled rewards. 

If that doesn’t tire the kids out, finish the day off with a visit to the Wild Wood Adventure Play, inspired by the stories of Crathes Estate and end with a tasty treat at the Crathes Café.

From stunning architecture to superb interiors both original and restored, Duff house is a sight to be seen.  

From 7 – 9 April, Duff House will be hosting a historic Easter trail extravaganza. Visitors will be tasked with investigating who has been stealing all the Easter eggs - with many suspects such as Ruth the Cat, and Wilfred the Wolf. If you correctly solve the mystery a chocolate filled treat awaits you

This historic landscape surrounds an opulent mansion and beautiful gardens where you can discover a wealth of activities.  

During the Easter holidays, Haddo House welcomes families to get involved in their Easter activities running on April 7,8 & 10. The trail will follow round the grounds and terrace garden and will be filled with mysterious clues, but will you be able to figure them all out and be worthy of an award?

Located across from Aberdeen city centre’s bus and train station, The Tivoli’s unique Victorian design and traditional charm makes it one of Aberdeen’s most beloved theatres.  

With showings from April 7 – 10 The Tivoli’s Easter special is a take on a fairytale classic – Beauty and the Beast. Sure to have you crying with laughter, it’s not one to be missed.
