Workshop Online: Colours of Nature with Louise Barrington
Louise will gently guide you through the process of natural dyeing from undyed fabric to the finished naturally dyed textile by exploring everyday materials found within the kitchen, as well as materials found through each season, locally and in your garden. You will be taken through her own creative practice and why moving towards a more sustainable process has developed her studio work, and more importantly how this supports the local environment.
Louise Barrington studied textiles at Central Saint Martin's, and sculpture at the Slade School of Fine Art in London, before returning back to Orkney. Louise is currently researching and developing a project Four Seasons: making the invisible visible with support from Creative Scotland, and lectures at the Orkney College on the BA Fine Art course, part of the University of the Highlands and Islands.
