The Big Hairst Picnic
Family event celebrating local produce, wildlife and history.
The Big Picnic - an extension to Hairst Day - is an annual family-centred day celebrating local produce, local nature, and local history.
Make a picnic made from some of the delicious food available at the Farmers Market on Saturday and bring a blanket and some games and enjoy the surroundings of the Leith Hall Estate.
There will be lots of interactive activities such as learning about Rare Breed animals (and getting to meet some!), information and activities from the NTS rangers, and crafts and a teddy bears history trail around the pond walk with a mini highland games at the end. Throughout the day Greenspace Collective will be running a series of short 10 minute introductions to sustainable gardening topics, with time in between for questions and discussion! All making for a fun packed day.
