'Sopranaria, comprised of Moira Docherty (soprano), Barbara Scott (mezzo soprano) and Blair Cargill (piano), are delighted to return to Balmuir and look forward to sharing some of their musical favourites alongside their host Linda Cunningham (cello).

Moira is a versatile soprano, classically trained at the North-East of Scotland Music School in Aberdeen. As a lead soprano with Tayside Opera her roles have included Tosca, Mimi (La Boheme), Violetta (La Traviata), Lady Macbeth (Macbeth), Adina (The Elixir of Love) and most recently Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor). She is in demand for recital work and as a soloist with choral societies. Details of her future engagements can be found at www.moiradocherty.com.

Barbara is a classically trained mezzo soprano based near Inverness. Her operatic roles have included the title role in Carmen, Fenena in Verdi's Nabucco, Olga in Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin, and Maddalena in Verdi's Rigoletto. In 2024 she performed as Kundry in a semi-staged version of Wagner's Parsifal with The Mahler Players under the baton of Anthony Negus, alongside Sir John Tomlinson CBE.

Blair grew up in Arbroath and was awarded an entrance scholarship to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, continuing his studies at the Royal Academy of Music on the Advanced Course. He teaches piano in Aberdeenshire schools, Robert Gordon's College, and is accompanist for Stonehaven Choral and Aberdeen Orpheus Choir.

Their programme will include duets and songs by Schubert, Brahms and many others in various combinations.

An afternoon tea is included.
