Elaine Reid is a local writer and Writing for Wellbeing facilitator resident in Deeside. She is also an artist and has been facilitating creative and therapeutic workshops in Aberdeen city and shire since 2010.

In 2017, she spent a year as writer-in-residence in The Wild Garden at The Barn, Banchory, leading a community project, Flourish, which encouraged wellbeing through writing outdoors.

Elaine has had poems published in various anthologies including Pushing Out The Boat and The Lapidus Magazine, and has exhibited her visual poetry at NEOS, The Barn and in her solo exhibition at The Foyer Gallery at The Phoenix Centre, Bieldside in 2024.

In this workshop we will use a selection of poems as springboards for your writing. You will then be introduced to Free Writing as a way to explore your thoughts and feelings in response. The focus will be on writing for yourself as a tool for wellbeing, so, no previous writing experience is necessary.

This will be a small group workshop with an emphasis on a playful approach with no pressure to share your writing unless you'd like to. We may also venture outdoors to write beside the river if the weather allows.

More information about writing for wellbeing can be found on Elaine's website: www.elainereid.co.uk. [http://www.elainereid.co.uk.]

Please note, this event will include a maximum of 10 people. The event will run from 1.30pm to 4.00pm.

Light refreshments are included.
