To mark the end of term, and possibly the end of an era for the UK, Modo has teamed up with Buchan Day Opportunities to stage and evening of entertainment on 29th March in Peterhead Community Theatre. The first half will combine sketches, movement pieces and songs from the Bluetoon Concert Party, with circus routines from CircoModo Peterhead. The second half will see a rare full production of Confusion of Tongues: acomic circus kerfuffle revelling in the chaos and the shenanigans that follow as a group of oddballs gather under a common flag to create a new world.A little miracle of a show, funny, nostalgic, smart, touching, even poetic and magical at times.Last year Modo spent 6 months working with young people to create the show. It was first performed in Monte Compatri (Italy) in June and was then performed again to standing ovations at the European Youth Theatre Festival in Grenoble (France) in July.Full of extraordinary skill and dexterity, but it is not just a simple juggling exercise, instead becoming a moving and poetic reflectionConfusion of Tongues has been performed at Scottish Week, Cruden Bay Gala and in the womans wing in HMP Grampian. In September the full show was performed at Haddo House as part of the Mash Up Youth Festival which was celebrating the Year of Young People.Confusion of Tongues is funded by an Opportunities for Young People Grant from Aberdeenshire Council, and supported by Fraserburgh Rotary Club, Cruden Bay Folk Club and the Budding Rose.
