Join printmaker Hetty Haxworth as she guides you through the process of DrypointEtching, one of the oldest methods of printmaking. You will be guided throughtracing your imageonto a clear plexiglass plate with a sharp metal point. The plate is then inked and can be printed again and again. Participants will experiment with different coloured inks and layer their work using watercolours to create unique prints. Feel free to take along some A6 images to work from or choose from Hetty’s inspiring selection. Bring a packed lunch for our short break.
Hetty studied at the Glasgow School of Art and exhibited widely in the UK and abroad. Her work has shown at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, the Royal Scottish Academy and the Royal Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts, The Scottish Society of Artists and selected touring shows to Ohio, Australia, LA, Denmark and Brussels. Her colourful prints capture the movement of light over the local landscape surrounding her studio in rural Aberdeenshire where she lives and works.
