DolphinFest
Celebrate Aberdeen's marine wildlife with talks, stalls and plenty of activities for the entire family.
DolphinFest 2021 will be a celebration of the marine wildlife around Aberdeen and the coast of North East Scotland particularly the city’s status as a must-visit destination for dolphin watching.
Aberdeen is one of the best places in Europe to see wild bottlenose dolphins and one of the few places you can see them so close to a city centre. What’s more the experience can be enjoyed from the shore, which is the best way to watch sustainably and ensure no disturbance is caused to the animals.
The Festival will provide online activities throughout the week that will celebrate the marine environment and the dolphins seen in Aberdeen, including daily storytime sessions with TV presenter Rory Crawford, an inspiring webinar with young conservationists, a marine mystery to solve by The Locked Door, a ‘pub’ quiz with Goose’s Quizzes and much more.
Throughout the festival we will be trying to inspire people to take action to protect marine wildlife, to reduce, reuse, recycle and refuse and lower their carbon footprint, with a series of take action talks and live Q&As offering ideas of how you can get involved.
The festival will also celebrate the end of the nine year Dolphinwatch project.
