Fae Cove tae Bennachie and Durris tae Burnhaven, the North East teems with giants, selkies, faeries and other mysterious creatures. Explore these legendary tales this autumn with Aberdeen City Libraries and local writer Jackie Ross at a series of six free creative writing workshops, taking place as part of Scotland’s Year of stories. Across the six workshops – in English, Doric or your home language – you’ll be invited to explore the creative techniques needed to write either contemporary retellings or new original works inspired by these treasured North East stories. You’ll also gain the skills needed to present your work as part of a celebration event during Book Week Scotland. These workshops will take place on Monday evenings and are open to adults and young people aged 16+.
