Virtual events you’ve got to watch in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire

Although many live events may have been cancelled this year, there’s still the option to enjoy virtual events in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire from the comfort of your own home. Here’s my run down of virtual events to add to your social calendar:

Highland Games 2020 (12 September 2020)

One of the highlights of the events calendar in Scotland (and worldwide) is the ancient tradition of the Highland Games. This year, a special Highland Games event will take place behind closed doors and be shared virtually on Saturday 12 September. Featuring all the competitive sports you’d traditionally find at the event including heavies events and highland dancing. Fun fact, the stars of the Netflix series ‘Home Game’ will also be competing. Don your best Scottish attire, tune in and share your photos using the hashtag #virtualhighlandgames.

Taste of Grampian (18 – 20 September 2020)

Scotland’s biggest one-day food and drink festival, Taste of Grampian, will now take place virtually over three days, from the 18th – 20th September. The virtual festival will include interactive food and drink tastings, cooking demonstrations, live online entertainment and more.

Haddo Arts Festival (3 – 8  October 2020)

This year Haddo Arts Festival is going digital. Working in partnership with Haddo House and Music Co-OPERAtive Scotland – McOpera, the festival will be premiering events from 3 – 8 October. For more information click here.
