MY WEEKLY EVENTS ROUND-UP, 30 OCTOBER - 6 NOVEMBER 2017

As Halloween looms and Bonfire’s Night beckons, Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire are buzzing with activities this week ranging from music, theatre, comedy and lots of fireworks.

soundfestival 2017

Running until the 11th November, soundfestival 2017 rounds up this years’ collection of Aberdeen Festivals. Featuring contemporary classical, electro-acoustic, improvised, experimental and jazz music – attendees are encouraged to try new music.

Greg Davies

On his biggest tour yet, BAFTA nominated, Greg Davies arrives in Aberdeen this week for his first stand up show in four years, “You Magnificent Beast”. Expect roars of laughter at the HMT this Halloween.

Whisky Galore!

Settle in for an evening in The Barn for a showing of Whisky Galore! Filmed on location in Aberdeenshire, Whisky Galore showcases beautiful coastal villages Portsoy and Pennan.

Date: 1 November. Location: The Barn, Banchory

Scottish Opera: La Traviata

In high demand since its Scottish Opera premiere in 2008, La Traviata come to His Majesty’s Theatre for two nights. Featuring award winning international talent, La Traviata tells the story of a heart-breaking love affair, a must see for opera enthusiasts.

Guy Fawkes Evening at Dobbies

Kicking off the Bonfire Night activities, Guy Fawkes Evening at Dobbies welcomes guests to enjoy a three-course firework themed menu and fireworks show. For those looking for alternative dining options street food is also available, including pulled pork, hot dogs and toasted marshmallows.  Guests will also be able to explore the launch of the exciting new Christmas range.

Aden-een, The Shell Fireworks Parade 2017

Don your wellies and bring your torches, as the Shell Firework Parade celebrated the work of Robert Louis Stevenson. Characters come to life as they fill the woods at Aden County Park. Guests are encouraged to wear fancy dress and make sure you bring your sense of adventure.

Just Beatles

With authentic instruments and non-stop hits, Just Beatles have perfected their performance emulating the Beatles. You’ll be singing the classics until the New Year.

Date: 4 November. Location: Tivoli Theatre

Aberdeen City Firework Display

Wrap up warm and head down to the Beach Boulevard this Bonfire Night for fire jugglers, charity fire walkers and a 20 minute firework display accompanied by music.
