Spring is just around the corner and to add more excitement we’ve got a bustling what’s on calendar this March. Make the most of those dark nights with some star gazing and these fun events:
- Shrek the Musical [28 February – 9 March 2018]
Take your noble steed for a treat to His Majesty’s Theatre as Shrek returns for hilarious feel good musical comedy. You’ll be dancing in your seat and ready to take on this bright, beautiful world… and in the morning you can make Waffles! - Braemar Mountain Festival [1-4 March 2018]
Following the huge success of its inaugural event in 2017, the Braemar Mountain Festival will return with a bigger and better festival. Featuring a collection of workshops and talks from esteemed mountaineers, this festival is a must for outdoor adventurers. - World Junior Curing Championships [3-10 March 2018]
Coming to Aberdeen for the first time, the World Junior Curling Championship will see the best young curlers from across the globe descend on the Granite City. If you've not got your fill after the Olympic Winter Games, don't miss this event.
- A Spoonful of Sherman [5-7 March 2018]
I don’t know about you but I grew up belting the Sherman Family’s music in the playground. From the family who wrote the soundtracks for Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and The Jungle Book among many others, A Spoonful of Sherman is “practically perfect in every way”. - Aberdeen Jazz Festival [8-18 March 2018]
Prepare to be whisked to the home of jazz music, New Orleans, as we embark on the Aberdeen Jazz Festival. With performance venues ranging from His Majesty's Theatre and the Blue Lamp, to outside at Jazz On The Green you can expecting a range of styles to enjoy.
- Dara O Briain: Voice of Reason [12-13 March 2018]
Expect floods of laughter as Dara O Briain comes to the HMT this March with his brand new stand-up show ‘Voice of Reason’. As one of the most recognisable faces on British TV, the comedian is here for not one, but two nights. - Hairspray [19-24 March 2018]
Are you ready to become one of the nicest kids in town as Hairspray returns to the HMT? Grab that can of hairspray and call your friends as the cast welcome you to the 60s in this fun and entertaining theatre show. - Run Garioch [25 March 2018]
Have you signed up for Run Garioch or are you planning to cheer on the runners? Run Garioch 2018 is now closed for applications but if you are feeling inspired to sign up to a running event don’t miss the Great Aberdeen Run in August or check out our other sports events. - North Hop Aberdeen [30-31 March 2018]
