Beaches

With an abundance of sandy beaches in the region, you’re spoiled for family days out. Walk with the sand between your toes and breathe in the fresh sea air.  South of the city you can walk miles along the golden St Cyrus beach, and Stonehaven and Aberdeen beaches both have a range of cafes, food trucks and restaurants to enjoy the freshest seafood, locally brewed coffee and world famous ice cream. Head north from the city to visit Balmedie and Cruden Bay beaches, both locations are fantastic for fun activities. Explore the famous picturesque sand dunes, and for nearby wildlife spotting, the Forvie Nature Reserve is home to a 400-strong colony of grey seals. If you’re more adventurous, try a range of water sports from surfing to paddleboarding at Fraserburgh beach or Stonehaven harbour respectively.
