Ballater Business Association and Ballater Royal Deeside are delighted to announce our first Mountain Bike Festival. It is our intention that we become a world-class destination for adventure sports tourism, and in future we become hosts of the best annual Mountain Bike Festival in Scotland.
Our action-packed programme is full of activities across the weekend of the 10th-12th September 2021.
One such activity includes guided rides for both beginner and advanced cyclists, courtesy of Ride in Peace Adventures and EGuide Scotland! Suitable for everyone, we encourage you all to try one of these rides so you can take in the beautiful Ballater scenery! You can find more information, along with ticket details, right here.
The festival promises something for all ages and abilities, as Live Life Aberdeenshire are attending with their Pump Track, and Grampian Disability Sport are providing their fleet of adapted bikes. Along with an array of bike-themed activities, there will of course be plenty of choices for delicious food and drink as we are working alongside some fantastic local businesses to keep you and the family fueled throughout this weekend packed with adventure! We also recommend you pay a visit to some of the shops selling unique goods.
The fun doesn't stop there, as on Saturday you can witness the U.K. premier of 'The Big Bike Film Night', courtesy of Ride Treeline and Deviate Cycles. If you're a two-wheel devotee then you'll love this collection of short documentary films packed, with action, drama and humour - we're certain this production will leave you feeling inspired and hungry for your next cycling adventure! On Sunday, you'll get the chance to see some of the world's greatest cyclists race through Ballater as the eighth and final stage of this year's Tour of Britain comes to Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. You can find further details on this fantastic event here.
