The kids aren’t due back to school for another few days, so why not cap off the summer break with a day out in the city? Escape to Aberdeen and make some timeless family moments with these recommended activities.

Fuel-up for your grand day out
The kids will need plenty of energy for their adventures, so why not make a stop at one of these eateries? Stop by Greyhope Bay to enjoy a hot chocolate, or coffee for the adults, and a sweet treat with a view! This has been recorded as the best place in the U.K. to spot Bottlenose dolphins from land.
For a light lunch and some delicious ice cream, pop into the Mackie’s 19.2 parlour in Marischal Square. If the sound of freshly made Neapolitan pizzas ticks the box, then make your way to Mac’s Pizzeria on Union Street.
The city is completed with an array of delightful parks and gardens, as well as the beloved Aberdeen Beach – why not pack a picnic and bask in the summer sun?

Big Bounce @ Bon Accord is back for 2022 from Thursday 11 to Sunday 14 August! There will be inflatables, face painting, a climbing wall, and more taking over the St Nicholas Roof Garden as well as Upperkirkgate and Schoolhill areas. There’s over 20 inflatables and activity stations for the family to enjoy, with all money raised from tickets going to Charlie House and Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Does Viking-age treasures dating back to 900 AD sound fascinating? Then make your way to Aberdeen Art Gallery on Saturday 13 August for some hands-on family fun! As well as getting to play with copies of these stunning treasures, there will be stories, games and more for kids aged 4-12 to enjoy.
If you find yourself by the beach, then make sure you pay a visit to Codona’s Amusement Park! Here you will find endless entertainment for you and yours to enjoy, including ten-pin bowling, an arcade, mini-golf as well as plenty of options for food!
