Kronach Youth Orchestra
The aim of the Orchestra is to engage and motivate young people to play music. They provide classes and training for children from elementary school upwards and youngsters progress from the Kids Orchestra to the Youth Orchestra .
The repertoire of the Orchestra includes traditional brass music, marches and polka, but also classical and some modern arrangements of pop music e.g. Toto, Simon and Garfunkel .They will also play some excerpts from popular musicals and films e.g. Jesus Christ Superstar, Cats, Dance of the Vampires etc. The Orchestra has been visiting Scotland since 1980 during which time it has forged close relationships with various music groups from Moray, such as the Strathspey Fiddlers and the Portsoy Pipe Band. This year they have added Deeside to their travels.
