Johnshaven Fish Festival
This annual event, now in its 22nd year, is a great way to spend a summers day. You can browse the various stalls selling fresh local produce, jewellery and arts and crafts. Sample the huge variety of food on offer. Enjoy listening to local musicians performing live on stage. The local pipe band and highland dancers entertain the crowds at regular intervals. Explore the harbour area, not forgetting to have a look at the vessels on display in the water. Pop into the Benholm and Johnshaven Heritage Museum situated in the Lifeboat Shed or the local lobster merchant, Younger ones are also taken care of with entertainment in their own dedicated area. Don't miss the highlight of the day, the annual Raft Race and remember to cheer on your favourite and show them your support.
