BBC Introducing favourite, Katherine Aly is a unique talent with a genre-defying style based in Edinburgh, United Kingdom. With influences from Jessie Ware, CHVRCHES and London Grammar, Scotland-via-Greece singer/songwriter has been championed by Canal+, Clash Magazine, The Scotsman, The Scottish Sun, Amazing Radio and Vogue Italia and she ”continues to explore the realms of alt-pop with confidence and a great deal of promise” as complemented by Tenement TV.

Katherine shared the stage with a variety of eclectic artists like Honeyblood, Onr., Goodbye Mr Mackenzie, Bec Sandridge, Tallies and Calum Bowie and has received excellent reviews for her spellbinding sets and engaging, ”knockout” performances, as reviewed by The Skinny Magazine for her showcase at Wide Days. Katherine’s gained airplay on national radio (Janice Forsyth, Afternoon Show on BBC Radio Scotland) as well as stations in the United States of America, Canada, France, Spain, South Africa, Hong Kong and as far afield as Australia and the Weekender Mag nominated her for Breakthrough Artist and Album of the Year for her debut album Shadows Are Made Of Light Too, which came out in June 2022 and received excellent reviews nationally and internationally.

Katherine’s got some very exciting collaborative releases in 2023, with the first one being a track with Chef the Rapper called Payday, already championed multiple times by BBC Introducing and BBC Radio 1.
