In 2019, soundfestival features new music by contemporary composers including sound’s current composer-in-residence, Ailie Robertson, as well as Laura Bowler, Linda Buckley, Frédéric Pattar and Luke Styles.
Continuing its series on endangered orchestral instruments, this year the oboe takes centre stage with new commissions being performed by two of the UK’s most exciting and pioneering oboists, Christopher Redgate and James Turnbull.
Other confirmed artists include Diotima Quartet (France), Calefax Reed Quintet (Netherlands), Red Note Ensemble (Scotland) and Fabiana Galante (Argentina).
