Sheep Shearing Tour Down on the Farm
A chance to watch farmers shear their sheep.
Every year in May our sheep are shorn. This is done because the thick woolly coats they grow to keep them warm in the winter, are no longer needed during the summer.
Come and join us in the sheep shed and watch us shear our sheep. We will explain why shearing is so crucial to sheeps welfare, show you how the clippers work, and give demonstrations on how to roll and store the fleeces to keep them in prime condition to sell on.
