Celebrate the long evenings of a Scottish summer with an informal evening of music. Mirroring Scottish Ensemble’s ever-popular Concerts by Candlelight, this first of a new annual series of events will take you on an atmospheric journey through an eclectic mix of musical styles, including Mozart’s scampering, energetic Magic Flute Overture, Vask’s shimmering Musica Serena and Dvorak’s American Quartet, evoking expansive, wide-open vistas. To take advantage of that evening sun we’re setting this concert within the spectacular light-filled atrium of Aberdeen’s Art Gallery. We invite you to grab a drink (the first is on us!), settle in, and enjoy an evening of superb music in the company of Scottish Ensemble, before you head home in the gloaming… Programme Antonín Dvořák American Quartet (final movement) Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Overture to The Magic Flute Thomas Adès O Albion from Arcadiana Peteris Vasks Musica Serena Franz Schubert [arr.
