Off-Loom Creative Weaving
Join us for an evening of creative weaving in FOLD, our craft & design store. Using a variety of colourful yarns, simple materials and a board or object as a loom, discovery the joys of free-form weaving without technical barriers. This opens the possibilities of closely exploring patterns and colour changes within our natural world. Whether you are inspired by coastlines or your garden, we will investigate hues together and translate these into a small piece of fibre art to take home. The workshop is led by fibre artist and FOLD’s Craft & Design Manager, Stephanie Fradette. The Aberdeenshire-based artist blends bold colours into her woven, knotted and tufted wall hangings, showcasing rich textures, contemporary design and craftsmanship. She has recently published her first book “Playful Peg Loom Weaving” and has taught workshops across Scotland sharing the creative possibilities of fibre art. This workshop is part of FOLD’s new Monthly Craft Series. In April, we are celebrating weaving through a variety of events. Follow FOLD on Facebook and Instagram for more information.
