It's going to be a supersonic Northern Arc with the Scottish powerhouse of Session A9 joing by Finnish folk superstars Frigg for a performance that will challenge the roof of the Lemon Tree to stay intact. With fiddlers Adam Sutherland, Charlie McKerron, Gordon Gunn and Kevin Henderson, Brian McAlpine on keys. David 'Chimp' Roberston on percussion and Marc Clement on guitar. Session A9 have been described as 'Tighter than James Brown' and 'The best band to come out of Scotland in 100 years'. They've been delighting audiences up and down the country and at festivals in Europe with their enthralling musicianship since forming in 2001, picking up several awards along the way. Frigg are renowned the world over, drawing inspiration from their homeland alongside those from their extensive travels - joyfully fusing Nordic and bluegrass flavours to create their own signature; Nordgrass. Tight interplay between four violins, with mandolin, cittern, guitar and contrabass, is spiced with a sparkling, high-energy stage show - presenting an outstanding display of richly exultant virtuosity on all fronts.
