Grampian Youth Orchestra 2019
Grampian Youth Orchestra is very excited to return to the refurbished Music Hall for its 2019 concert. For its annual concert in June 2019, the orchestra is delighted to welcome Susannah Wapshott, of Scottish Opera, as Conductor for the first time, who will conduct a wonderfully exciting programme including the "English Folksong Suite" by Vaughan-Williams and "Symphony No 2 in D" by Brahms. The orchestra is absolutely thrilled to welcome back one of its Patrons, Murray McLachlan, as Soloist who will perform the fantastic "Piano Concerto No 2 in C minor" by Rachmaninoff. Murray last performed with GYO in 2014 to universal acclaim so, we are really looking forward to having him back! Seen as one of the most important and exciting Youth Orchestras in the North East, GYO has really come of age in recent years and continues to increase in player numbers and produce high levels standards of playing at every concert. We look forward to welcoming you to our 2019 concert, which will surely be another fantastic performance to remember especially as we make our return to the Music Hall."
