Fiona Soe Paing: Artist Exchange Sharing collaborates with musician and sound artist Thee Manual Labour in a new project inspired by the rich balladry tradition of North-East Scotland. For this Artist’s Exchange with Aberdeen Performing Arts, they have been developing new work for voice, electronics and guitar, inspired by the stories of some of the traditional ballads, re-imagining and re-interpreting them using cutting-edge electronic techniques, as well as creating new ballads inspired by local folk tales. This informal performance/Q&A is a sharing of work in progress which was developed over the course of the five day residency.
