Delve 2024: Joy Hotel & Goodnight Louisa
Join the opening night of Delve as we kick off the party at the end of the world with an evening of music and spoken word.
Watching the The Joy Hotel is not like a normal experience of watching a band, it is like a psychedelic trip into outer space. Boy, this band put on a show. The Joy Hotel are a Glasgow seven piece band that takes you on a ride their rolling musical thunder of influences, layered harmonies, swirling guitar, keys and singing bass – this band are causing quite the stir as one of the most exciting and talked about new bands in Scotland.
Goodnight Louisa is the musical alter-ego of Edinburgh’s Louise McGraw, who provides us with a dark reverb-soaked sound, reminiscent of St Vincent, Depeche Mode and early Madonna. From gothic, to 80s 4AD, to pure electro-pop, and with quick, irreverent lyrics, Goodnight Louisa’s performance promises to get your hips moving and making eyes at the stranger across the room. Joined on stage by by Jonny Scott (Chvrches, The Kills) and Susan Bear.
The evening will be hosted by our guest curator Leyla Josephine and features local spoken-word artists Orla Kelly, Molly McLachlan and Mae Diansangu peppered through the evening.
