Deeside Local Food Festival
Annual event run by the Mixing Bowl Aberdeen designed to bring people together to celebrate the food and drink that is produced in the region.
The Deeside Local Food Festival is an annual event, run by the Mixing Bowl Aberdeen, designed to bring people together to celebrate the local food and drink of the North East of Scotland.
This year the event is moving to the new location of the beautiful Crathes Castle in Banchory. Building on the success of previous years we are delighted to open the 2020 festival with a ceilidh on Saturday evening while Sunday will be filled with delicious food, live music and entertainment for all ages.
On Saturday 22nd August the festival will launch with 'Ceilidh at the Castle' featuring popular local band “Cabrach”. This event will be suitable for all the family. Food and drinks (alcoholic & soft) will be available to purchase from local vendors.
The Food Festival will take place on Sunday 23rd August. At the heart of the event there will be a local produce market where over 45 local food and drink producers will showcase and sell their produce. Over 90% of the stalls will be from Aberdeen City or Shire. There will also be cooking demonstrations with local chefs, tastings and hands on workshops. Visitors will enjoy a great variety of street food options for lunch in the Street Café and will be entertained with live music and dancing by local artists. For the children there will be an exciting choice of kids’ activities including food related games, outdoor activities, crafts and quizzes.
The event is a fun family day out with something to interest and entertain all ages. Come hungry!
Parking in the dedicated festival car park will be free of charge from Saturday 6pm until Sunday 6pm. This also applies to non NTS members.
Festival guests wishing to explore the Castle will also be required to pay the standard castle entry fee.
