Cyanotype is a photographic printing process that produces a cyan-blue print. It involves a solution that is part potassium ferricyanide and ferric ammonium citrate. The solution is applied to a receptive material , paper or cloth , and is reactive to UV light.During the class we will work up to creating photographic exposures on paper and fabric. Inspired by Anna Atkins cyanotype book of Algae created in 1843 using physical algae found on beach shores , I invite participants to create a collection of prints with me using an inland algae associate; lichen and its neighbouring cairngorm plant species.
