Charity Garden Opening - Airdlin Croft
Since 1983 the garden has been developed to be both attractive to wildlife and horticulturally interesting, while also providing fruit and vegetables. Polytunnels with figs, peaches and pumpkins in one and a collection of hostas, wrestling for space with seed-grown rhododendrons in the other. Native trees form the backbone of the woodland garden, providing shelter for a range of shrubs and herbaceous plants from around the world. In the new, windswept garden, an embryonic shelterbelt is struggling to protect recent plantings. We are avid propagators and there is always an interesting range of plants available for sale.
This is a fundraising event for the open garden charity Scotland’s Gardens Scheme which raises money for hundreds of local charities.
