Braemar Literary Festival 2024
Returning for its third year, The Fife Arms is delighted to announce The Braemar Literary Festival, inviting both local residents, hotel guests and day visitors to come together and celebrate the literary world.
The festival, which stands proudly as part of the new Scottish cultural scene, will feature leading cultural figures, including renowned author and actor Alan Cumming, food writer and critic Tom Parker Bowles, best-selling author Ken Follett CBE, novelist, broadcaster and WPF founder, Kate Mosse plus many more.
Collaborating once again with The Queen’s Reading Room, the weekend festivities will bring together novelists, historians, artists, and actors who will descend on The Fife Arms and the village of Braemar to honour the power and quiet beauty of the written and spoken word. Connecting readers and literary enthusiasts of all ages with heartfelt readings from the authors who penned the words, the festival will provide a forum to engage in spirited discussion.
Over the course of the weekend, visitors will be able to enter the fascinating world of Royal recipes in the company of Tom Parker Bowles, in conversation with Matthew Fort, as they explore Tom’s latest book Cooking and the Crown: Royal Recipes from Queen Victoria to King Charles III. They will also have a chance to join award-winning landscape architect and designer of The Fife Arms’ garden, Jinny Blom, as well as listen to author and actor Alan Cumming in a hugely entertaining, personal and insightful talk.
