Learn all about Aberdeen Angus and absinthe while exploring the stunning surroundings and enjoying a delicious lunch with craft beers, followed by a distillery tour.

What do Aberdeen Angus and Absinthe have in common? Well nothing really, just the fact that the most passionate and entertaining Aberdeen Angus farmer in Scotland just happens to be based beside Scotland’s first distillery to produce Absinthe!

Which means during this shorter tour we can learn about one of our most traditional cattle breeds and the story behind our newest spirit.

A one hour drive from Aberdeen city centre takes us out to a farm with views over southern Deeside like no other. Here we will meet Farmer Ken and hear all about his prize winning herd of Aberdeen Angus cattle and the history of this magnificent breed.

From here we look down the howe which once upon a time was a loch until drained for farmland. This loch also leads us to the story of the absinthe and gives us a sighting of the unlikely building that houses the new distillery, which has already won some top awards.

After our farm tour and a short scenic journey we will be treated to a hearty Aberdeen Angus based lunch and some local beers. After lunch we will head into the distillery for a tour and tasting of their range of award-winning products. We will then make our return to Aberdeen city.

This will be a great day out where we will meet some very passionate producers and exchange stories in a fun environment, whilst learning about and sampling some of Scotland’s most traditional and newest produce.
