Macduff Marine Aquarium

Scotland's largest bay, the Moray Firth is teeming with life - and it's all there for you to discover at Macduff Marine Aquarium. Situated on the coast, the aquarium showcases native sea creatures in exciting displays that lead you through the firth's underwater habitats.

Meet shy rock pool fish and toothy wolf fish, wobbly jellies, octopus and local sharks - there are hundreds of species. The central living kelp reef is unique in Britain and SCUBA divers hand feed the fish in this tank. You can gently handle seashore critters and see baby sharks developing in the special hatchery.

Grab a fish finder leaflet to help identify the animals, and enthusiastic staff are always happy to talk about fish during feeding sessions. The gift shop is a treasure trove of sea-themed souvenirs and books.

If you're touring through or staying the coast, a visit to the aquarium will fill you with wonder at the amazing diversity of life in our seas.
