Meditation classes for all at our Aberdeen centre and at locations throughout the North of Scotland

Welcome to the Aberdeen centre of Kadampa Buddhism. We are part of a global organisation teaching highly practical meditation techniques suitable for everyone!

Our meditation centre is not only a peaceful place, it is a place to learn how to be peaceful! Guided meditation, inspiring talks and a warm and accepting environment where everyone is welcome.

Now more than ever we can benefit from spiritual practice and being part of a community of like minded people!

Meditation has many benefits, including:

– Deep relaxation & improved health.

– Increased mindfulness & concentration.

– Developing a more positive approach to life.

These classes run in short series but each class is self-contained so you can also just drop-in to any class.

As well as our Aberdeen classes we also offer weekly classes in Aviemore, Inverurie and Nairn and a monthly classes in Banchory, Inverness and Stonehaven

All classes are available online to members and we also have a Study Program that can be joined via zoom on Monday evenings for anyone in the North of Scotland.

Retreat breaks on the Moray coast and in the Cairngorms

We offer retreat breaks at our centres in Portsoy on the Moray coast and in Glenlivet, in the Cairngorms.

Set in an idyllic retreat venues in tranquil surroundings facing the ocean or surrounded by mountains. Between meditations you can enjoy walking by the sea and on the coastal path, sitting in the garden by the stream or wandering around the 17th Century historic harbour.

Normally we are constantly distracted by external objects, busy activities and scattered thoughts. Observing silence is a powerful method to disengage us from busyness and to deepen our contemplation and concentration. The retreats include silent periods and participants are asked to switch off their phones for the duration of the retreats.

In these gentle retreats, we will practise a series of deepening meditations to enable us to let go of distractions and settle the mind into an experience of inner peace.

Gen Kelsang Tubchen, a modern Buddhist nun with over 20 years of experience of engaging in and guiding retreats, will introduce practical meditations on how to maintain positive, peaceful states of mind and present instructions on how to deal with the daily difficulties and problems that everyone experiences. Gen Tubchen will also reveal how we can create lasting inner peace and happiness both for ourselves and others.
