Rugged cliffs and imposing sand dunes overlook our golden beaches along the Aberdeenshire and Banffshire Coast. With a city centre beach - lined with seaside cafés, restaurants, entertainment and even a fairground - and many untouched beaches along the 165 miles of Aberdeenshire coast, the area is well loved for those looking for a sandy escape!

The areas beaches are loved all year-round for scenic walks, chilled picnics and of course, water sports. Head south of Aberdeen and on the way stop off at Muchalls – there is a gorgeous undiscovered beach here – small but perfectly formed. In Stonehaven the beach is built for tourists with its own caravan park, Open Air Pool, ice cream parlour, a famous fish & chip take away and restaurant lining the very seafront. On the other side of the town you will come across the old-fashioned fishing harbour – the quaint pubs which surround it are well worth a visit for a warming whisky.

Along the Banffshire Coast, north of Aberdeen, there are countless glorious beaches to be discovered. Some known, some unknown. Balmedie Beach is the closest to the city and is a spectacular with its imposing great dunes. Further along the coast and famous for its magnificent sands, the Sands of Forvie is a wild, sandy sandscape with walks past wildlife and through grand dunes!

Nature dominates here too with playful dolphins, sunbathing seals and seabirds including puffins! Nearby to many of our beaches you will find charming fishing villages, impressive lighthouses, vast golf courses and, in some cases, legendary castles!
