Alford
A swiftly growing rural town nestled in the splendour of the Aberdeenshire countryside, Alford is home to several visitor attractions including a museum, ski centre, golf course and woodland country park.
Close to some of Scotland’s largest ski centres, the town is also great for perfecting your skill all-year round on the dry ski slope at the Alford Ski Centre.
Located in the centre of the town is the renowned Grampian Transport Museum, showing vehicles from the early 1800s right through to today's electric offerings.
Within the village you can also visit Alford Heritage Museum and The Old Royal Station or have a leisurely stroll through Houghton Country Park and Murray Park.
Nearby is Craigievar Castle, an idyllic castle with its pink walls and array of turrets and towers, is said to be the inspiration for Walt Disney’s Cinderella Castle!
For those adventure seekers, the town can also act as a base for walkers and cyclists hoping to explore Royal Deeside.
