Marcliffe

Set in eight acres on the outskirts of Aberdeen, Marcliffe is a five-star, luxury Scottish hotel offering 42-bedrooms, two restaurants, spa treatment rooms and a whisky bar.

The Suites, Superior and several of the Deluxe Rooms have been elegantly reimagined with 20 rooms named after iconic Scottish castles. Inspired by the calming tones of the Scottish landscape, each room is layered with soft greens, warm blues and subtle touches of bespoke Balmoral tartan, creating a distinctive sense of place unique to Marcliffe.

Two new Superior Family rooms have been introduced, complete with bespoke bunk or cabin beds for children and spacious surroundings for the whole family to relax in comfort.

In each room, curated furnishings, ambient lighting and individual design details ensure every stay feels personal, restful and refined. Sumptuous cotton linen and deluxe, luxury toppers ensure guests enjoy a 5-star experience every night.

For families and friends travelling together, a selection of interconnecting rooms provides space to gather and retreat in equal measure, offering flexibility without compromising on privacy.

In January 2026, Marcliffe launched Skylark Brasserie bringing a fresh dining experience to the hotel with a focus on lighter plates, even more local produce from artisan suppliers and fragrant twists. Brunch, lunch and dinner are served under a glass-domed roof, flooding the space with natural light, 7 days a week.

A central bar in Skylark Brasserie, serves cocktails inspired by the innovative chefs, alongside a curated selection of drinks that pair nicely with the dishes on the menu.

The Conservatory Restaurant serves full Scottish breakfast, lunch and dinner with a refined menu, promoting local and Scottish produce that is strongly focused on the seasons.

The Drawing Room serves cocktails, drinks and afternoon tea with handcrafted savouries and sweet treats in gorgeous surroundings.

The Cushie Whisky Bar is full of sporting memorabilia and serves a selection of whiskies, spirits, wines and craft beer on tap.

Two spa treatments rooms are available offering a wide range of treatments using Elemis products.

An attentive Porter service is available on arrival. 24-hour Room Service is prepared by the award-winning culinary team. A knowledgeable and friendly Reception team are ready to ensure your stay is the perfect escape from arrival to departure.

In 2025, Marcliffe was awarded the prestigious AA five-star rating, the primary national benchmark for hotel and restaurant excellence in the UK.

The hotel also acquired Woodbank in 2025, a neighbouring 14-acre estate, formerly owned by Shell. A multi-million-pound investment has been earmarked to support Marcliffe’s long-term expansion plans, including additional bedrooms and luxury leisure facilities.

The hotel also caters for meetings, events, weddings, and private dining with 7 separate rooms which cater from 18 guests to 400.
