Boutique Farm Bothies – Stay, Slow Down, Relax and Rejuvenate – Feel closer to nature
Nestled into the glorious Aberdeenshire countryside is Boutique Farm Bothies where we want our guests to slow down, relax, rejuvenate and feel closer to nature. Here at our farm we grow malting barley to be made into Scottish whisky specifically Glenlivet, raise a small flock of sheep and grow the tastiest Scottish strawberries. During the lambing season, usually mid May, guests can visit the farm to meet the new-born lambs and in springtime guests are treated to a punnet of strawberries and homemade jam on their arrival to their bothy.
All our bothies are individually designed, built with love and passion by a family of farmers where ideas have no restrictions. These boutique boltholes are set within our farmland and designed to allow guests to slow down, take a breath and reset whilst also enjoying a few luxuries of life.
We have designed each bothy to encourage the outside in and each has their own playful character and authentic nod to its agricultural history. They are each sited independently so that guests feel secluded in their own area of the farm. Each have been filled with curated vintage treasures and upcycled items with endless personal touches for a truly memorable stay.
For those who would like to try a taste of Aberdeenshire, Jane will happily arrange a hamper of local produce from the splendid larder of Aberdeenshire. Homemade bread and pizza dough is also available.
Whether you use the bothies as the base to be able to explore the stunning coast, hills, towns or distilleries or want to just enjoy walks from the bothies around the farm and local area we want the guests to feel like they can leave the world behind and enjoy the bothy experience (but with a little more luxury). Rooms
Barley Bothy
The original wriggly tin bothy sleeps up 4 guests in two king size box beds.
Barley Bothy is the greatest place to relax and enjoy a slower pace of life. Made mostly from upcycled and repurposed materials the wooden interior was once a chicken shed before being turned into a colourful yet relaxing retreat. Heating and cooking is provided by the woodburning range with the kitchen well equipped to enjoy making a meal on the range cooker or toasting a marshmallow on the fire. Relax by the woodburning stove to read a book or listen to the rain or the radio. Both king-size box beds, designed with the highland bothy box beds in mind, have star gazing windows to watch the night sky. If you would rather watch the stars whilst you take a soak you can do so from the roll top bath which is on a separate immersion heater. Barley Bothy also has some card and board games to allow a group or family to spend time together away from screens.
Outside on the veranda you can sit and watch the sunrise and sunsets or pass the time as you fire up the wood pellet pizza oven or wood fired hot tub.
All bookings come with bed linen, kitchen linen and towels for the hot tub and bathroom. We at Boutique Farm Bothies believe rest and a really comfortable sleep are the essence of a bothy stay. All of our bothies have Hypnos mattresses with beautifully soft cotton bedlinen to help ensure you have a great sleep. Wood, pellets for pizza oven, kindling and fire lighters are supplied with additional supplies available for an additional charge.
Well behaved doggies are welcome and will find their own welcome pack on arrival. An additional fee of £15 per dog per stay will be charged to cover the additional cleaning requirements for their stay.

The Sheep Shed
For a more intimate feel in its own little copse of trees, the Sheep Shed is built for a more cosy stay sleeping up to 2 persons in a bed on a mezzanine level.
The Sheep Shed benefits from glorious views across the fields through the glass gable end. As with most of the Boutique Farm Bothies, cooking is done via the wood burning stove. The Sheep Shed is our ode to off grid living with solar power providing electricity for lighting and USB charging and heating provided by the woodburning range cooker.
Outside on the decking you can enjoy your morning coffee or sundowners whilst the woodburning hot tub warms or the pizza cooks in the Delivita wood fired pizza oven. At night when the sun has set over the Aberdeenshire views the twinkly lights over the hot tub is a wonderful way to relax and unwind. When it is time for bed, you climb up the steps to the mezzanine bed where there is a king sized bed and also a shepherd’s watch chair.

The Dairy at Denend
The Dairy at Denend adds a more playful element to your stay with Boutique Farm Bothies for up to 4 persons.
Whether it be taking the ladders inside or the stairs outside to bed where you will find a king sized bed with stunning views across the farm from the arch gable end window and a cosy bunk bedroom or using the Ally Up basket to bring breakfast to bed with a twist, you will enjoy its quirky and colourful charm.
With its design inspired by the Hosier milking bale, the Dairy at Denend has been designed for you to take your time and relax. The open plan kitchen and seating area has a vintage feel brought to you with curated items and upcycled furniture to sit back and enjoy. The Dairy at Denend has a repro vintage record player to play some tunes whilst you rustle up a few cocktails from the 1950s larder cocktail cabinet, a wood burning stove to keep you warm as well as a wood burning range cooker with all kitchen essentials to allow you to cook like you are at home. The decadent bathroom includes a roll top copper bath and a beautiful hand painted sink with a large window facing the woodland where you can watch the world go by as you soak.
Outside on the decking you will find the bespoke milk tank woodfired hot tub, an outdoor dining area and a Vulcanus God of Flames outdoor grill to enjoy cooking in the elements. In the summer months there are also deck chairs and a hammock to doze in the dappled shade.

The Denend Farmhouse
The vibrant Denend Farmhouse nestled in the trees sleeps 8 guests in four bedrooms and has been designed for joy.
Downstairs includes the colourful open plan kitchen with an Everhot electric range cooker, dishwasher and larder fridge. The kitchen is well equipped so you feel like you are cooking at home with a utility room which contains a separate toilet, fridge/freezer, washing machine and overhead airer. Relax in the sitting room in front of the wood burning stove, playing records on the Bluetooth enabled record player, reading a book or playing board games. Located downstairs is also the master bedroom featuring a king-size bed and ensuite with roll top bath.
Upstairs there are two further king sizes bedrooms, a twin bedroom, bathroom and separate shower.
Outside you will find a decking area for outside dining, a DeliVita woodfired pizza oven (which can also be used for cooking meats and vegetables) and woodfired hot tub as well as a large garden and parking area outside the farmhouse.
