Our Castles
To kick start that flood of posts you need something eye-catching that will stop your friends scrolling past and make them stop and stare. This one requires a little more legwork but prepare for an overwhelming flood of happiness as you look out over some of the most beautiful landscapes Scotland has to offer. Aberdeen acts as the eastern gateway to the Cairngorms National Park (the UK's largest National Park) so you’re never short of a rewarding hiking route on your trip here.
The Lairig Ghru is Scotland's most famous mountain pass covering 19 miles of natural beauty.
Lochnagar is one of the most popular Munros in Scotland.
Take a picture with the locals
It’s not every day you drive past a Highland Cow at the side of the road, so savour the moment by stopping to get a picture with the intelligent giant. They’re can be pretty inquisitive and they are super photogenic, don't you agree?
'Heilan' Coos' can be found in many places across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
Embracing the street art vibes
In recent years Aberdeen has embraced the street-art scene with popular street-art festivals Nuart Aberdeen and Painted Doors decorating the city centre. You can download maps of the locations here (Nuart Aberdeen and Painted Doors) and see a whole new side of Aberdeen.
Since launching in 2016, more than 24 doorways have been brightening up Aberdeen's city centre as part of Painted Doors.
Nuart Aberdeen launched the following year in 2017 attracting visitors and locals alike in their thousands.
