KISS OF DEATH: DEATH AND MOURNING IN THE VICTORIAN ERA
The Victorians are noted for the extravagant ways in which they celebrated death. Queen Victoria was in mourning for Prince Albert from his death in 1861 until her death in 1901, greatly influencing the traditions of the time. The exhibition will explore death in the 1800s through mourning and burial traditions, belief and superstition.
