Visions - Haddo Arts Festival 2016

Visions, the fifth Haddo Arts Festival, runs from 1 - 8 October in the beautiful surroundings of Haddo Hall and Haddo Country Park.

This year's Festival opens with the Haddo House Choral & Operatic Society concert featuring the Mozart Requiem and his Piano Concerto, no. 21 in C major with Martin Roscoe.

There is a delightful lunchtime song concert with Scottish tenor, Jamie MacDougall, electro acoustic music created by Pete Stollery in the beautiful Haddo chapel and, crime in the library courtesy of North East author Stuart MacBride, topped off by a short concert by students of the North East of Scotland Music School

The ridiculous ‘Myrtle Throgmorton Takes the Biscuit’ on Thursday, but we return to the sublime on Friday for Australian concert pianist Piers Lane’s ravishing programme of Chopin by Candlelight. The festival ends with Scottish Opera’s production of Donizetti’s sparkling ‘The Elixir of Love’, a lively comedy which will appeal to all ages.

Paul Ritchie brings seven artists together in the exciting mixed media Visions Exhibition and photography is in the frame with the inaugural Haddo Visions Photography Competition. There are also stimulating children’s workshops for invited schools with the RSNO, specialists Children’s Classic Concerts and Haddo Country Park rangers.
